AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL ARTIST:  FAYE OLIVER is an experienced and well-established artist.  Faye worked at Keringke Art Centre, Santa Teresa in the Northern territory for six years as an assistant art co-ordinator.

Faye's artworks have been exhibited in several countries and she has received a number of art awards.  Through her art, Faye endeavours to bring trust and peace into the community and the expression of this modesty can be seen in her art.

Faye learned to paint from her sister Edith, one of the Sared Heart nuns. Faye's art is colourful, neat and beautiful.  

Sacred Womens Song shows sacred women (healers) moving around the bush in groups.  They sing sacred songs, collect different types of medicinal herbs and leaves.  The design shows some women digging for the medicinal roots with their digging sticks.  The medicinal plants are used to heal the wounded.
